The Luminaries of the Generation

From the murky depths,
From under our valleys haze,
We cannot behold
The suns mighty blaze

From the darkness of our abode
Our eyes are raised
Unto the lofty mounts,
For brilliance of the sun
Crowns their towering peaks
As a halo of glory

A ray, a flicker,
May covertly to us flash
And for a moment
A glimmer of their light
will pierce our night.
